A brownstone being renovated at 797 East 4 St. in South Boston burst into flames around 10:25 p.m., in a fire that went to four alarms and damaged two adjoining buildings.
BFD reports no injuries.
Fire Commissioner Joseph Finn, on scene, ordered a fourth alarm at 10:52 p.m. The fire was declared knocked down around 11:10 p.m.
Firefighters were ordered out of the building and off the roof.
The fire department estimates damage at $1 million.
