Boston Police report arresting two Dorchester men and one from South Boston after officers responded to reports of package thefts in the area of East 4 and N streets yesterday afternoon.
Officers spoke to witnesses who reported that three males were stealing packages from residents’ porches, ripping open the boxes, and stuffing the contents into shopping bags. Officers broadcast the suspects’ descriptions and direction of flight and began to canvass the area.
Shortly thereafter, two Boston police officers performing a detail in the area of East Second and Emmett Streets observed one male fitting the description of one of the suspects. Upon stopping the male, officers observed that he was carrying a shopping bag filled with merchandise, some of which displayed the shipping addresses of victims on East Fourth Street. This suspect was identified and taken into custody.
Police add officers found the other two in the area of Columbia and Marine roads.
Robert MacNeil, 47, of Dorchester, Johnny Sadm, 19, of Dorchester, and Cody Urban, 19, of South Boston were charged with larceny over $250.
