Waterfront club ordered shut for two nights after manager refused to do anything about patron's sexual attack on server

The Boston Licensing Board yesterday ordered the Grand, 25 Northern Ave., to close for two nights because of an incident last fall in which a manager let a table of men finish their drinks even after their server told him one of the men had grabbed her and inserted his finger in her.

The club can choose when to serve the punishment, but the closure has to be on a Friday and a Saturday - typically a club's busiest nights. The club can also appeal the suspension to the state Alcoholic Beverages Control Commission.

At a hearing on Tuesday, a lawyer for Big Night Entertainment Group, which owns the Grand, said the manager was fired and all other managers and workers retrained to ensure something like this never happens again.
