South Boston meth dealer gets 2 1/2 years in prison, loses E Street condo

A federal judge this week sentenced Peter "Scooby" Molloy to 32 months in prison for trafficking methamphetamine in the Boston area - and his Arizona supplier to ten years behind bars.

The US Attorney's office reports Molloy, 39, and Adrian Carlos Maldonado, 38, of Phoenix, had earlier pleaded guilty to moving the drug to Boston and then selling it here.

According to the US Attorney's office, Molloy started selling meth from a variety of sources in 2014, then struck a deal with Maldonado a year later.

In June 2018, Molloy and Maldonado each pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute 50 grams or more of methamphetamine. Molloy also pleaded guilty to one count of possession with intent to distribute 50 grams or more of methamphetamine.

In addition to the prison time, Molloy agreed to give up his $520,000 condo on E Street at West 6th Street, his Hyunday Veloster, more than $173,000 in cash, a $10,000 cashier's check and a $1,000 money order.

Molloy will also have to pay a $25,000 fine and will spend three years on probation after his release, the US Attorney's office reports.
