State Police report a man suffered serious injuries around 5 a.m. when he was hit by a car whose driver was heading north, just south of the Southampton Street exit.
State Police report the driver spotted the man and "took evasive measures, but was unable to avoid a collision with the pedestrian."
State Police add:
The pedestrian, an adult male whose identity is still undetermined, was transported to Boston Medical Center for treatment of serious injuries.
This crash remains under investigation. No charges have been filed at this time.
